End of the Journey Week 129: Was My Life Worth It?

One of the most Important questions that Lee had during his last days: Was my life worthwhile? Do you have these moments too? This life review is common to people who are forced to recognize their declining abilities.  This can be a source of satisfaction. and bring peace. It can also shed light on past failures and omissions. Under fear, illness, pain, or fatigue, the nervous system begins to focus on past failures and omissions. That can cause people to:

  • remember failures more vividly than successes

  • overestimate mistakes

  • minimize the good they gave

During the times when you wonder if you accomplished anything of value during your life, consider how important you have been to the people in your life. And, if you are not sure, ask them. In fact, this review will help them as they adjust to your absence. Take some time to talk about your shared experiences. Talk about the fun times, the challenges successfully met, the things that made life better for others. If you have unfinished business or lingering resentments, this is the time to resolve them.

And remember: your life matters, always has, and always will. The world is better because of you.

This was one of our favorite photos. Our first kiss after exchanging our wedding vows,
